School of Hotel Management and Tourism, LPU organized an annual event of “Christmas Tree Lighting & Cake Mixing Ceremony”. The activity provided a real hands-on experience to encourage and boost confidence among the students as they learned to become professionals in guest handling during the services of hi-tea operations. The event was held with the enthusiasm of around 120 participants which includes students, faculty and staff along with the invited guests from the Hospitality industry.

School Of Hotel Management and Tourism Celebrates World Tourism Day

World Tourism Day 2019 was celebrated with the aim to provide a platform for the students to perform and compete with the participants from all schools of LPU, which will help them to develop new skills and do their best to promote the Hospitality and Tourism industry. The theme was “Tourism and Jobs: a better future for all”. The purpose of celebrating Tourism Day is to foster awareness among the students about the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value. This event was held with high enthusiastic strength of around 500 students from the School of Hotel Management and Tourism.

Interaction with chef parvinder s. Bali

School of Hotel Management and Tourism organised an interactive session with Chef Parvinder S. Bali on Skype. It was two hours long interaction in which 120 students who are ready for placements along with 10 faculty members made their presence to learn very eminent topic. The orientation of the interaction was to give motivational talk on how to clear OCLD, further he spoke about Pre preparation for OCLD. Later, live question answer session was scheduled and Chef Parvinder gave a brief on what are the key areas to improve personality. The session was concluded on some prominent discussion about OCER and OCLD.

Clean India Campaign

School of Hotel Management & Tourism has celebrated “International Housekeeping Week”, in which students presented a small skit on the topic of ‘Clean India Campaign‘which was focusing towards the cleaning and hygiene awareness among villagers of Nangal village, Punjab. Clean India Campaign is a nation-wide campaign for the period of 2014 to 2019 that aims to clean up the streets, roads and infrastructure of urban and rural areas of India.


In LPU, School of Hotel Management organised a successful event named as ‘Tiffin Competition’ in which 22 teams participated. The event was assessed by Chef Amit Singh Slathia who is Executive Chef at ITC, Fortune, Jalandhar along with chef faculty of SOHMT. Chef Slathia, who carries a dynamic and knowledgeable personality, had given a word to deliver a workshop on the Ayurvedic food and its necessity in coming years.


On 21st August 2019, World’s renowned and headquartered in France Accor Hotel Group’s brand Pullman (Aerocity, New Delhi) and Novotel Hyderabad Convention Center (NHCC), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with School of Hotel management & Tourism, Lovely Professional University (LPU).

The competition was organised by food production club on 2nd of February,2019 in which 35 teams participated consisting of two members each and they had to prepare two different desserts Indian and Western for which the allotted time was only 3 hours including the plating. Judgement was done by executive chef Rahul Rawat of Radisson Jalandhar along with 2 Internal faculty members.

Students of LPU School of Hotel Management and Tourism created the longest salad bar measuring 311.2 metres, made up of 7 different types of vegetables and weighing 1259 Kg. The feat was on display at Baldev Raj Mittal Unipolis.
